Ingredient Information


Ingredients:

Cetyl Alcohol – is waxy, crystalline and solid, a plant wax derived from coconut and palm oils. An emollient and emulsion stabilizer used in many cosmetic preparations.

Glycerine (Vegetable) – is a sweet, warm-tasting, oily fluid obtained by adding alkalis to fats and fixed oils. A solvent, humectant, and emollient in many cosmetics, it absorbs moisture from the air and therefore helps keep moisture in creams and other products. It is a humectant, which attracts moisture to the skin as well as helps soften the skin.

Stearic Acid – is a white waxy natural fatty acid that promotes healthy skin. Used as an emulsifier, it occurs naturally in butter acids, cascarilla bark and other animal/plant fats and oils. It is the major ingredient used in making congenital bar soap and lubricants. A large percentage of creams on the market contain it.

Emulsifying Wax – is an emulsifier obtained from coconut and palm oils. It is treated so that it can combine water and oil together for a smooth emulsification. This emulsifying wax does not contain synthetic ingredients.

Borax Powder – is a natural mined substance that acts as an emulsifier, stabilizer, softener, and preservative.

Optiphen – is a preservative without formaldehyde or paraben. Without adding a preservative natural made lotions would have a shelf life of only 1 month and would require refrigeration. With the use of a small amount of preservative they can be kept on the shelf for up to 12 months.

Panthenol (Vitamin B) – Vitamin B5 is an important part of skin and hair care. Providing revitalizing and conditioning effects, Panthenol possesses humectant-like properties that aid in skin absorption. One major benefit of Panthenol is its contributory role in the production of coenzyme A. Coenzyme A is needed by every living cell to help it grow and survive.

Hyaluronic Acid – is such an excellent water reservoir, and ideal lubricant, that when incorporated into cosmetics, it leads to a perceptible and visible improvement in skin condition … the corner stone of every anti-aging product and all mature / dry skin treatments.

Vitamin E –  Common uses of Vitamin E; Anti-aging creams and lotions, UV Protective products, moisturizers, treatment of burns, antioxidant, protection from free-radical damage, protects against oxidation, improves skins water binding ability and improvoes appearance of rough, dry and damaged skin.

Silk Protien Powder – Silk protriens are excellent hair and skin conditioners. It helps maintain moisture levels in the skin, prevent dryness and has anti-bacterial properties.

Aloe Vera – Aloe is an excellent moisturizer, and contain a plethora of antioxidants including, beta carotene, vitamin C and E that can help improve the skin’s natural firmness and keep the skin hydrated. It has been found effective in treating numerous skin conditions, including dryness, burns, and stretch marks to name a few.

Butters

Aloe Butter – Aloe Butter is an extraction of Aloe Vera using a fatty coconut fraction to produce a soft-solid which melts on contact with the skin. It aids in rapid hydration of dry skin from sun burn, wind burn, and general chapping. Aloe butter is suitable for a variety of skin care applications including use in lotions, soaps, skin creams and lip balms.

Cocoa Butter- Cocoa Butter is obtained from the fruit of the cacao tree (Theobroma Cacao) in Africa. From its seed kernels the butter is extracted and refined to obtain a white butter, making it ideally suited for use in cosmetics and toiletries. Cocoa butter is solid at room temperatures, but melts easlily on contact with the skin. Prevents drying of the skin and development of wrinkles. Reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores skin flexibility.

Shea Butter – The Shea kernel comes from the karite tree in Africa. It has a unique fatty acid composition making it a suitable emollient for many skin care applications, such as baby care products, massage creams, etc… It also provides some sun protection due to its content in cinnamic acid and latex (which also aids to prevent certain sun allergies) as much as 15 SPF. The crude Shea butter has natural antioxidant properties due to its content in Tocopherals. Due to the unsaponifiables, Shea butter helps skin tissue to make its own collagen.

 

Plant Based Carrier Oils

A carrier oil is a vegetable oil derived from the fatty portion of a plant, usually from the seeds, kernels or the nuts.

Each carrier oil offers a different combination of therapeutic properties and characteristics. The choice of carrier oil can depend on the therapeutic benefit being sought.

Natural lotions, creams, body oils, bath oils, lip balms and other moisturizing skin care products are also made using vegetable (carrier) oils.

Acai Berry Oil

Antioxidant for skin care, antiaging ingredient. The seeds and pulp of Acai berries have been used for centuries by the natives of Brazil for their unmatched healing and nutritional properties. The Acai berry abounds in essential fatty acids such as Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9. There are also many other vitamins such as B1, B2, B3, E, and C, minerals such as Phosphorus, Calcium, and Potassium, as well as polyphenols, anthocyanins, and phytosterols. Acai Oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Acai berry.  Apricot Kernel Oil

Apricot kernel oil is good for people with sensitive skin. It is non-irritant and soothing for the skin. It is light and quickly makes the skin soft and smooth. Apricot oil percolates deep into the skin and is easy to apply on the skin as it quickly spreads on the skin. It soothes irritated skin and it is particularly helpful for dehydrated, delicate, mature and sensitive skin, and it helps to sooth inflammation. It is particularly rich in both oleic acid and linoleic acid.

 

Argan Oil

Calendula Oil

Calendula oil is good for all skin types, and is considered valuable for treating skin damage such as wounds, scars, burns, inflammation and other injuries as it is said to be an effective aid in tissue regeneration. It has anti- inflammatory, anti-spasmodic qualities and particularily blends well with Hypericum (St. John’s Wort). It is best when infused in a light textured oil such as almond or sunflower. Calendula is a tonic, soothing, restorative oil, good for any type of skin, but especially suitable for dry and/or aging skin. When used regularly this product will impart a deep olive shine to the skin, and helps protect the skin from age related thinning and drying out. It is magical in its ability to prevent tearing, soothe pain, stop bleeding, promote rapid healing, and prevent scarring.

 

Castor Oil

Natural vegetable oil derived from the seeds of the herbaceous plant castor, consisting of triglycerides of different fatty acids (90 % ricinoleic acid, 3-4% oleic acid, 3-4% linoleic acid).  Is an excellent emollient (leaves the skin soft & smooth), good hair conditioner (repairs & nourishes the hair, stimulates the scalp), moisturizer & lubricant (gives shine to lipsticks & lipbalms). Used in creams, lotions, hair care products, bath oil, sun & baby care products, lip care products.

 

Coconut Oil

Unlike the solid coconut oil used in making soap fractionated coconut oil uses a method of seperation from the whole coconut of the smaller fatty acid triglycerides to give what is known as “Fractionated Coconut Oil.” The separation process is non-chemical and involves a simple physical separation process so there are no chemical residues to worry about. There are many advantages to Fractionated Coconut Oil including the following:  The oil has essentially an infinite shelf life, it consists completely of saturated fatty acid side chains and absorbs more readily into the skin making it ideal for massage therapy, it leaves your skin feeling silky smooth without that greasy feeling, is colorless, odorless, antibacterial, and antifungal.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp Seed Oil penetrates the skin to remoisturize, revive and repair cells damaged by the elements; sun, wind & ultraviolet light. It may be used as a massage or moisturizing oil by applying it to the skin as desired. It may also be added to shampoo or conditioner to rejuvenate the scalp. If you choose you may add your favorite essential oil for fragrance. This carrier is very high in unsaturated fatty acids, which makes it a great moisturizer for dry and devitalized skin, especially since it absorbs into the skin very quickly. It is also a cell regenerator and helps soothe muscles. Use as the base or 10% of the blend. Hemp Seed Oil is readily absorbed.

 

Kukui Nut Oil

Kukui Nut Oil contains vitamins A, E, and F; important nutrients that help to revitalize and restore the skin’s normal activity. Its high content of linoleic and linolenic acids, are essential to having healthy skin. Kukui Nut Oil is rapidly absorbed into the skin and leaves no greasy feel. Regular use helps to rejuvenate and soften deteriorated, dry, lifeless skin. It is reported to benefit sunburned, chapped dry skin. Also for treating and relieving the symptoms of many skin conditions.

 

Sweet Almond Oil

This amazing oil is extracted from raw almonds. It owes its benefits to the generous amounts of monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, potassium, proteins, zinc, and a number of other vitamins and minerals it contains. Sweet Almond Oil softens and moisturizes skin. It can reduce inflammation when applied topically and has mild antioxidant capacity. It can be safely used on sensitive skin as it is less likely to cause allergic reactions.

 

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a good oil for skin care, especially mature, inflamed, or dry skin, as it provides disinfectant, antiwrinkle, and wound healing properties. It makes an excellent conditioner for hair and nails, and is used as a remedy for arthritis. It is good for making salves, cosmetics, and has good medicinal properties.
